  ACNE TREATMENTS Acne is a common skin condition caused by oil (sebum) and dead skin cells clogging hair follicles. It is especially frequent in areas of skin with a dense concentration of oil glands, such as the face, chest, upper back, and shoulders. Acne can manifest itself in a variety of ways. TYPES : Whiteheads are closed, clogged pores that appear as small, white lumps on the skin's surface.
Blackheads are open, clogged pores that have darkened due to exposure to air, resulting in little black spots on the skin.
Papules are little, red, raised bumps on the skin that are uncomfortable to touch.
Pustules are similar to papules in appearance, but they contain pus and often have a white or yellowish centre.
Nodules are huge, painful, solid lumps beneath the skin's surface.
Cysts are painful, pus-filled tumour’s that can leave scars.  CAUSES : Excess oil production: Hormonal changes throughout adolescence may cause the oil glands to produce more sebum, resulting in clogged pores.
Shedding skin cells can clog hair follicles by combining with excess oil.
Bacteria: The bacteria Propionibacterium acnes can thrive in closed pores, producing irritation and redness.
Hormone fluctuations, such as those found during puberty, pregnancy, or menstruation, may contribute to acne production.
Genetics of acne: A family history of acne may increase your chances of developing it.
Chronic stress can exacerbate acne or cause breakout. CHEMICAL PEELING : A chemical peel, also known as chemical foliation or derma peeling, uses a chemical solution to improve the appearance of your skin. In this treatment, a chemical solution is applied to your skin, which causes trauma or injury to your skin’s layers. The skin layers eventually peel off, revealing more youthful skin. The new skin is usually smoother with fewer lines and wrinkles, has a more even colour, and is brighter in complexion.
